In today’s world, maintaining good health requires more than just eating well and staying active. Our bodies are constantly exposed to stress, environmental toxins, and nutrient-depleted foods, making it harder to get everything we need from diet alone. As parents I feel like everything were exposed to is doubled! We’ve got extra stress, extra germs, and we’re often eating whatevers left! For me, that’s where high-quality supplements come in. They bridge the gap, ensuring our bodies get the essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients necessary for optimal function. But not all supplements are created equal, and investing in high-quality options can make all the difference. I wanted to share a bit about my journey with supplements, as it seems to be a big question I’m asked!

Many store-bought supplements are filled with fillers, artificial ingredients, and low-grade nutrients that the body struggles to absorb. This means that while you may think you’re supporting your health, you could be wasting money on products that offer little to no benefit. Quality supplements, on the other hand, use bioavailable ingredients—ones that your body can easily recognize and utilize—ensuring you get the most out of every dose.

Why Supplements?

One of the biggest reasons people, myself included, turn to supplements is to fill specific nutritional gaps. Even with a balanced diet, modern farming practices have depleted our soil of essential nutrients, reducing the natural vitamin and mineral content in our food. Supplements like magnesium, vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids can help counteract these deficiencies and support vital functions like brain health, immune response, and energy levels.

Beyond just physical health, supplements also play a key role in mental well-being. Stress, lack of sleep, and the demands of daily life can drain our bodies of crucial nutrients. As a busy working mom I value my supplements a bit differently… They keep me SANE! I feel the difference when I am not giving my body everything it needs to function at its best. And just a PSA for anyone thinking they cannot swallow pills.. I couldn’t either – I would choke every time! However I watched some YouTube videos LOL and found success in a method and I can swallow two large pills at once now! So no more excuses for not taking your vitamins!

What Supplements Then?!

When choosing supplements, it’s important to research brands and look for third-party testing. Companies that invest in purity testing, sustainable sourcing, and transparency in their ingredient lists are far more likely to provide effective products. Avoid supplements with synthetic additives, artificial colors, and unnecessary fillers. A good rule of thumb is to choose whole-food-based supplements or those with clinical backing.

Personally I take a handful of supplements everyday. As someone who struggles with anemia I have found I feel 59478962 times better on a specific routine:

Multi Organc Capsule – I use this as like a multivitamin, I take 3-4 a day. I found this to truly help my mood/mental health. When I miss a day or two I’m so sluggish and sad. I’ve also had much better and less painful menstrual cycles. My husband takes the same ones as I do.

Beef Liver Capsule – this is just pure liver, my husband also takes this one and said it’s easier on his digestion and all that. I prefer all the organs.

Magnesium Powder – I put this in my smoothies, drinks, and even on yogurt! Magnesium is a major part of allowing other vitamins to function or be absorbed in the body.

Acerola – This is the earth’s real vitamin C! I take this as soon as I am feeling sick, but I try to take it on a regular basis as well! I put it in smoothies for my kiddos.

Gelatin Powder – ok this stuff will make you the best homemade yogurt. My yogurts were good, but now they’re GOOD and have the best consistency. Super love this for yogurts, gummies (put the Multi Organ or Beef Liver powder into this for healthy gummies) and pannacotta (my favourite Italian dessert dish).
